N&N – What does a woman want?

(Namrata dedicates this blog to the man, who brought a whole new meaning to her life, full of hope and manifestation)

What does a woman want? There could be a dozen jokes about this phrase.

What does a lady want in her man? The list could mention Love, money, good looks, honesty, intelligence, humour, equality, stability, and chemistry; in reality, one needs a bit of everything in the right balance. Daddy’s little girls subtly look for their father’s qualities in the men they meet.

Namrata met her life partner Nitin when she least expected it. With past experiences in life, both had no expectations about a partner or wishes of getting married. A decent career and financial stability are two important aspects, which provided confidence to an independent woman like her. She had seen enough examples of a couple in love, and marriages falling apart even after decades, there was no such formula or guarantee about a relationship. It all depends on the two people and how they make or break it. Rightly said, it takes two to tango. In friendship, neither of them had to pretend to be perfect or woe the other. They were natural as they are. Through the long conversations and specific instances, she slowly got to understand his personality, long before they became a couple.

Nitin is resourceful, flexible as well as logical. He is a shy, sensitive dude, but also pretty ambitious, and he just has a way with words.

Her Virgo man is practical, observant, utterly helpful, transparent, Down To Earth, Charming, Unpredictable, and Loyal to the core.

One can associate him with servitude – is gentle, helpful, and sympathetic by nature; he wants to take care of his family and friends above anything else and shows affection in practical ways like helping you with a project, doing the dishes, or just neatening parts of your life to make it easier. His preferred relationship is quiet and private, where most of the action happens at home, but he still wants to show her off to everyone he knows!

He is highly effective at communicating, clear and conscious. He is also witty as hell, so he is sure to make you laugh. He wants her to listen and learn everywhere he goes, and he especially wants to know as much about me as possible. It is at times unbelievable, that unknowingly she has adapted many good qualities from him.

It was not over romantic dinner dates or long car drives that Namrata was exposed to his personality characteristics, it was through real-life instances that drew her closure to him.

· She is appreciative of his kind and compassionate nature, because of which everyone in the family and friends circle is fond of him. He always thinks about the other person. Even if someone has hurt or harmed him, she has never ever heard him cursing anyone. He just does not hold grudges against anybody and that’s such a rare quality in a person.

· She is amazed how he could learn professional piano, clear 5 levels of yoga exams, and did his EGMP from IIMB; all while having a crazy travel schedule job.

· Nitin is totally a dependable man. Just like old-school from our grandfather’s generation; he loves to take complete responsibility for his family. He would ask her multiple times a day if she was doing well.

· They discuss life, finance, career, future goals, wishes, and almost everything. They do not take each other for granted. They try to understand each other’s situation.

· Nitin is quite Spiritual and meditative. He is an art of living follower and does yoga, and meditation even during his travel days. He isn’t addicted to mobile, TV, cricket, gambling, alcohol, or smoking; rather have a great friend circle, meditates daily, and smiles every second.

· Nitin extends his hands to support her hands and ankles when she drives a two-wheeler with him as the pillion rider. Similar is the comfort he gives her during long cab rides, where Namrata gets real dizzy.

· When Namrata was identified with covid, he acted promptly to gather all required medicines and equipment. He ensured she gets enough sleep while checking on her regularly if she may need medical care. He prepared homemade kadha(syrups), and soup for her speedy recovery.

· Nitin’s job profile demands hectic travels at least 20 days a month. At times, the flight timings are at midnight or early morning and he takes utmost care that her sleep doesn’t get disturbed due to this. In their relationship, only the quality matters and not the quantity of time spent together.

· During all basic festivals, Nitin extends help to shop, set up for pooja, and happily executes any task handed over to him. He ensures that he is around for help, at the same time keeping in mind the privacy she needs.

· They take care of the house by themselves, cleaning, cooking, dishes, laundry, ironing..everything. Even with his extensive traveling, Nitin helps in the kitchen either by doing dishes cleaning, or chopping veggies. He is the one who sweeps the house daily, if at home. He does not wait to be asked, rather proactively checks if he can do a certain task and then goes ahead. He is also pretty neat in completing everything, even if that’s putting the laundry on the rack to dry.

· He is the one who taught Namrata, how to make awesome yet simple cold coffee using a manual portable veggies chopper. It’s his zeal for living life that impresses Namrata a lot.

· He would save and bring her the small cashew packet or Paperboat juice received as part of the flight corporate meal plan. A grown-up Namrata gets excited to check his laptop bag upon return. It reminds her of her childhood when she used to check on her parent’s handbags, whenever they returned from outside.

With your soulmate, one can live ego-free life without getting judged, manipulated, or taken for granted. Each day becomes a celebration, even the storm feels like a beautiful sunny day.
